All of us are self-isolating at home following the Movement Control Order (MCO) announced by the Government since 18th March. You may worry that being stuck indoors and not able to go to your regular facial treatment may lead to unintended skin damage if not cared for properly. Here are few easy ways that you can take to care for your skin while staying at home!
1. HANDS OFF! THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT TOUCHING YOUR FACE
We know that touching your face is certainly very tempting and it happens without even you being aware of it. Avoiding it is a must when it comes to your skin’s health, moreover it is also the simplest measure to reduce your chances of catching the corona virus!
Touching your face will transfer dirt and germs from your hands to your face, which lead to clogged pores, breakouts, and even cause respiratory infections to enter your body.
Pimple popping is also a no-go. Popping pimples yourself can result in permanent scars. You also run the risk of infection caused by the transfer of bacteria from your hands to your face. You could also spread the bacteria from the infected pore to the surrounding and lead to inflammation or a worse outbreak, and causes your pimple’s healing to take longer.
2. USING YOUR PHONE OR OTHER DEVICES MORE MIGHT HARM YOUR SKIN
During this MCO period, you tend to get bored, which lead to spending more time scrolling phone and staying in front of a TV or laptop.
These devices emit blue light, also known as high energy visible (HEV) light. This type of light penetrates your skin more deeply than UV rays, and damages collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin, promoting premature aging and dark spots.
Meanwhile, the physical act of looking down at your phone could also hurt you. Looking down at your phone daily can cause wrinkles, leading to early wrinkling. This is commonly referred to as ‘tech neck’. Next time, try hold up your phone instead of looking down!
3. IT’S IMPORTANT TO USE PRODUCTS WITH SPF EVEN WHEN YOU AREN’T LEAVING THE HOUSE
You might think that you can skip your SPF while you are stuck inside the house. However, the sun can impact you even when you are indoors. In fact, standard glass windows block UVB but not UVA, which can penetrate deeper into your skin than UVB, which put you at risk for premature aging.
If you are constantly sitting near to the window or balcony, it will be another good reason for you to apply your SPF to be on the safe side!
4. YOU SHOULD BE DRINKING A LOT OF WATER
Staying hydrated is another important thing you should do for your skin. Your skin is an organ, and it simply cannot flourish and achieve the glow you are looking for if it is dehydrated.
Speaking of bodily functions, drinking enough water is one of the best things you can do for your immune system. Along with taking necessary vitamins, water is the thing that makes all your insides work properly.
According to experts, water also affects mood, energy and concentration. The more you drink, the more you are likely to be in a better mood, have more energy, and able to concentrate harder!
5. HOW TO GET YOUR SKIN CARE PRODUCTS IF YOU RUN OUT?
Beauty salons are considered as non-essential businesses, hence all Clarena Premium and Authorized Partners are not allowed to operate business as usual during this MCO period as safety measurements.
But that does not mean that you have to go without your everyday beauty regimen! You can still purchase your favorite skin care through phone communication with your preferred Clarena Premium or Authorized Partner. Check out the list of our partners (https://bit.ly/33Jb5vS). 6. TAKE THE TIME AT HOME AS A VACATION FOR YOUR SKIN
While practicing social distancing at home, it is the perfect time to think about correction! When your life is busy, you forget to stick to a regimen every day. Busy and stressful environment also lead to various skin issues.
When you are indoors during the current period, your skin will be protected from pollutants, grime and UV rays. Instead of wiling away the days, it is a good idea to use them wisely and pamper your skin at home. Spend the time while you are inside and really follow your daily skin care routine recommended for you.
